It's time to pass the internship torch

It's that sad time of the year when the BookNet intern clears their desk to make way for the next wide-eyed individual lucky enough to take on this fantastic internship.

Tears aside, I'm pleased to confirm that this internship was as fascinating and satisfying as everyone said it would be. I had the opportunity to swim in all the data as I worked on numerous research reports such as The Canadian Book Market 2016The State of Digital Publishing in Canada 2016, the Deep Dive studiesCanadians Reading Canadians 2017, and more! I've come to accept the fact that Excel is indeed my best friend.

Helping out on the Loan Stars program has reinforced my love for libraries. (I didn't think I could love them more.) And creating and perusing the Loan Stars catalogues on CataList has resulted in a 300% growth in titles on my To Be Read list. Good or bad? It's hard to answer because I'm too busy stumbling under the weight of all these great books waiting to be read.

And there's so much more! From helping run some of our social media accounts, to putting user documentation together for products such as CataList and Webform, to writing about the relevance of Oprah, and everything else under the sun, I had the opportunity to do and learn so much. I'm eternally grateful for this amazing chance to learn from all the exceptionally knowledgable BookNet staff. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again BookNet!
