An interesting analysis has now come out from JP Morgan analyst Imran Khan on the reasons why everyday folks would or wouldn’t purchase a Kindle.
Price is unsurprisingly a factor but a large amount of respondents said that they still just plain old prefer paper books. As an avid reader on my iPhone, I totally get that. I’ll read on my device when it’s more convenient or when I have no other reading material handy but given the choice, I’ll pick up a hard copy. Ideally, I’d have both p and e versions of whatever I’m reading handy so I can make the choice depending on the circumstances of where I am.
Other interesting news: of the 37% of respondents who said they were aware of what a Kindle was, 5% owned one already and 15% were planning on buying on in the next year.
