Free (older) books —> Purchasable (new books) —> Free (newish) books. The evolution of Stanza’s catalogue is happening right in front of our eyes. And with Neelan Choksi, Stanza’s COO, speaking at the BNC Technology Forum 2009, we’ll also be able to hear it with our own ears. (Yes, I think I do need a coffee—why do you ask?)
As of a week ago, Stanza offered free classical lit texts and a recently developed option to buy newer books from Fictionwise, BooksOnBoard and Pan MacMillan. All excellent for iPhone eBook readers and a great foundation for offering diverse and eBook friendly content.
Then Random House announced they were offering free backlist titles to Stanza users as a way to promote the talent in their stable.
