Sony had a release event this week to announce their new Reader, revamped store and renewed commitment to the Reader as an ebook platform in the US. Still no wireless, but a touchscreen with ‘gestured’ page turning and back (side?) lighting. All in all a very nice redesign. Gizmodo has photos and a hands-on.
Amazon has supposedly been working on a refresh to the Kindle as well and it looks like the first photos have surfaced (photos and informaton can be found at The Boy Genius Report).
