In the long tradition of copying and improving desirable naturally occurring traits from the animal kingdom (wings, small pouches for valuables…um…flippers), Voltaic Systems has created a power source that would make even the most well-endowed ungulate flush with envy: a solar-power generator in the form of a backpack. Now even the most device-dependent day tripper can be self-sustaining…if they remember to bring food and water in that convenient zippered compartment.
It’s too early for an eBook device to have an adaptor of its own for charging but it’s an intriguing development if battery life is a big concern for the average consumer.
